[Writing in Motion #1] Check out DESNORTEANDO on the Off Flip label
The chronicle that gave rise to the section DESENCONTROS was selected to be part of the anthology ‘50+ Tempo de Escrever’ (time for writing), featuring texts by authors over the age of 50

The announcement came from
, in her issue #3 ‘Guide to Opportunities and Open Calls for Writers’. The Off Flip label was organizing an anthology titled ‘50+ Tempo de Escrever’, aimed at authors over the age of 50.I, of course, couldn’t miss it. A rare opportunity—when advanced age actually becomes a competitive advantage.
But what piece should I submit?

I remembered a chronicle I wrote at the end of 2023, during a creative writing workshop. The instructor was Marcelo Rubens Paiva, the famous author of the book ‘I am still here’, which was adapted into the movie that won the Oscar for Best International Feature this year (2025). The workshop was organized by the Institute of Advanced Studies (IdEA) at Universidade Estadual de Campinas, one of the best public universities in Brazil.
It fit perfectly. A text about the difficulty of communication between different generations.
The original title was 'Desencontro' (Mismatch). The idea behind it ended up inspiring me to write more chronicles about ‘love and other, less trivial pains.’
I had never published that first, original chronicle, but its title was promoted to the name of the section where I publish stories and chronicles here on DESNORTEANDO.
I sent the chronicle (with a new title, as you’ll see below) and received good news this week: the text was selected. It will be part of the anthology.
I took the opportunity to experiment with publishing it here on DESNORTEANDO in a multimedia format.
This is the first time I’m trying out this kind of experiment. Take a look there and tell me what you think?
